Namaste My Loves,
Everyone’s yoga journey is different. Some people may be inspired by a specific teacher at a specific studio, others may pick it up from a friend or family member. My yoga journey started with learning the foundations on YouTube. To this day if I am feeling dull or need inspiration, this is where I turn to first. In this post I am going to give you a list of my favorite yoga instructors on YouTube and why I think you’d benefit from taking a look at their channels.
When I first began yoga, I was a stay at home mom with a newborn. My husband was usually away or worked long hours in the military and we had just moved away from our families for the first time. We lived in a small town in North Carolina and yoga studios were not very accessible at the time. I had no one to watch my daughter when I needed time to myself and financially joining a yoga studio was not doable at the time. That is when I discovered yoga on YouTube. I have tried numerous teachers and have found the ones I really resonate with. Below are a few of my favorites.
1. Cat Meffan

To this day, Cat is such an inspiring teacher with challenging and creative flows. I absolutely love her channel and you can tell she really puts her heart and soul into her community. Her flows can range from 20 minutes- 60 minute flows and also provides short breath work and meditation videos. She has recently created her own yoga App called Soul Sanctuary where she provides new flows weekly and has guest teachers make an appearance as well. I strongly advise you to do a few of her flows on YouTube, she has hundreds of videos to choose from and always keeps me on my toes. This is by far my favorite channel on YouTube.

Five parks yoga also has quite a variety of flows. I really enjoy Erin’s flow format. She tends to be a bit faster with her poses and that helps with keeping the heart rate up throughout the practice. Almost all of her vinyasa’s begin with a few Sun Salutations and then the Salutation B sequence, So this is a great way to really practice those foundational sequences and memorize the poses in each. I also love that most of her practices are in fact outdoors. It creates this beautiful scene that anyone would enjoy practicing in.

This was the first YouTube yoga channel I discovered over 5 years ago and from then on, I was hooked! Yoga by Candace is now under a new name “Candace Cabrera Tavino” where Candace now does a wide variety of workout videos, cool downs, vlogs etc. along with her yoga flows. Her yoga flows range from 5-50 minutes and she also has many pose breakdowns where she focuses on one specific pose to work on for a short period of time. I have always loved her relateable-ness and descriptions throughout the class. She really helped me find my body awareness when I was first starting out.

Tim Senesi is the definition of Calm, Cool and Collective. He has this certain chill vibe that is both inviting and warm and you can really feel his love and passion for yoga through the videos. Tim has great communication in all videos and really pays attention to form within each yoga asana and is able to clearly communicate where in your body you need to put the most focus on. After watching many of his flows online, it really teaches you how to check your form. Tim also has the best ab sequences, in my opinion. In most of his videos, he will do an intense ab session towards the end and I don’t know what it is, but I am always relieved once it’s over! If you’re looking to improve form and really focus on perfecting the basics, Yoga With Tim is a great option to improve your home practice.
Whether you are a seasoned yogi or just starting out, YouTube yoga flows are a great way to improve your home practice. Try a few different channels out and see what teachers you reasonate with most.
I’d love to hear if you try any of these teachers or if you have any other recommendations, feel free to comment below and let us know!
Make today worth living my loves and do something that makes your soul happy:)
Thanks,
-Maddy
